We Are Building a Community for Veterans

And we need your help

In 2013, Welcome Home, Inc. provided 35 Veterans with almost 4,000 nights of shelter. Unfortunately, Welcome Home had to turn away nearly three times that due to lack of space.

Currently Welcome Home turns away 156 Veterans each year on average due to space limitations and cannot accommodate women or families. The current house has suffered wear and tear as well as flooding issues and does not meet ADA requirements. A new Welcome Home campus will help accommodate more Veterans in a modern, ADA-accessible facility that is part of a Community for Veterans. Our Veterans served our country – and now we need your help in giving them a new home.

Donate today and join Welcome Home in its pledge to leave no veteran behind.

About the Community for Veterans

The Campus for Veterans will be located at 2112 Business Loop 70 East, the former location of the Deluxe Inn. The Current 4.2 acre site will be subdivided between Welcome Home Inc. and the Columbia Housing Authority. The Columbia Housing Authority has secured funding to build the Patriot Place Apartments which will consist of twenty-five one bedroom apartments.

Welcome Home Inc. needs your donation to help it expand its current scope of just ten male only shelter beds to thirty-two male and female rooms with additional space for veterans with families. Welcome Home is also building a supportive services center that will hold a warming kitchen, dining facility, lounge, computer lab, laundry area, patio, homeless prevention service offices, and meeting space for the Truman VA staff to provide services to residents on site.
